More (1998)
More
Today, I'd like to present another one of my all-time favorite shorts. The Oscar-nominated More, from 1998 follows the path of a factory worker. In its essence, it's about understanding yourself and what drives the fire that burns within and tells a cautionary tale of what happens when you sell out. Shot on big format IMAX film, More is beautiful and moving. You could hardly expect anything more of 6 minutes of claymation.
Check it out for yourself above. And if you really love it, buy it for the bigger screen (and by that, I mean your TV) with the DVD, complete with a "The Making of..." film. Written, directed, and edited by Mark Osborne, probably better known for his recent stint as co-director of Kung Fu Panda.
